Commissions
Drawings
My bespoke, photorealistic portraits are made on a commission basis using high-quality, archival materials. I use Faber Castell Polychromos pencils on 300gsm hot pressed Fabriano Artistico paper to bring my subjects to life, capturing both likeness and character.
My prices start from £120, and depend on size and number of subjects. If you are interested in commissioning a drawn portrait, please get in touch so I can provide a custom quote depending on the requirements of your artwork.
Please note, my prices include postage and packaging, and portraits are delivered mounted and unframed. A non-refundable 25% deposit is required via bank transfer to book a space in my diary. The remaining payment will only be made once the drawing is complete and you are 100% happy with it.
Paintings
My bespoke, stylistic painted portraits are made on a commission basis using high-quality acrylic paints on stretched cotton canvas.
My prices start from £300, and depend on size and number of subjects. If you are interested in commissioning a painted portrait, please get in touch so I can provide a custom quote depending on the canvas size and portrait requirements.
As above, my prices will include postage and packaging, and portraits are delivered unframed. A non-refundable 25% deposit is required via bank transfer to book a space in my diary. The remaining payment can be made once the painting is complete.
The process
-
Consultation
The first step is to discuss what you want out of your commission so that I can fully understand the brief. There’s no obligation at this point - I’m always happy to chat through options. After deciding on key components like portrait size and number of subjects, I’ll provide a quote for the price of the portrait.
-
Reference photo
The general rule of thumb is: the better the photo, the better the drawing. Take some photos in natural lighting with no direct sunlight - by a window or outdoors is best - at the subject’s eye-level. It’s most helpful to send me a selection of photos so that I can get a sense of the subject’s character - the more the merrier! I can also advise on how best to capture a photo if you need help.
I understand that for some, the subject of the portrait will no longer be with us. In this case I always do my best to work with what you have.
-
Deposit
Once we’ve agreed on the key reference photo, a non-refundable 25% deposit will be required to book into my diary. This can be done via bank transfer.
I can have long waiting lists, so please make sure you plan in advance if you need it completed by a specific date.
-
Completion
I will send you progress photos throughout the process to ensure you are happy with how the portrait is developing. Once complete, I will send you a final photo to check you are happy with the result. Once you are 100% happy with the piece, I will require the remaining payment to be made. I then post the artwork to you in secure, environmentally-friendly packaging with tracked 24hr delivery. I love to see any photos of your portraits once they’re home, framed and on display!
